2 1/2 Ton Truck

The 2.5 Ton 6x6, (M35), is a popular choice for individuals and businesses that need a truck which does not require a commercial drivers license (CDL). Smaller than a 5 Ton commercial truck, it is commonly purchased for use as a hauling and / or towing vehicle by excavators, landscapers, masons, farmers, and debris haulers.

With its 12' long bed, it makes an excellent reload and short haul truck in and out of remote construction sites where the more common high geared road trucks find it difficult if not impossible to make these deliveries. 6:72 axle ratios and high ground clearance makes the 2.5 Ton very apt at traversing poor roads and steep inclines.

The more common 10 tire, 9:00-20 size combination provides good load capabilities at 5,000 lb. off-road and 10,000 lb. on-road. These trucks can also be converted to a 6 tire 11:00-20 size combination for better handling and road speed.

Contractors use this vehicle not only for its rugged capabilities but for its cost effectiveness and good value. A fully reconditioned 2.5 Ton truck with its turbo charged 6 cyl. diesel engine, simple maintenance, and heavy duty design can usually be purchased for less than a civilian pickup that has been worked hard and worn out.
